The above pic shows my early BN1 leaf springs, which unfortunately came out in pieces with most of the leaves having cracked over time. To replace them, I ordered a pair of brand new leaf springs from Moss Motors a few years ago... Unfortunately the style that Moss (and others) provide are actually closer to the later BN1/BN2 style springs in that they use the larger spring clips with bolts through the tops of them to hold the leaves together... Note: for anyone wanting this later style, you can change out the modern style bolts for some proper flat head, countersunk screws & nuts to give a more accurate look... In addition to the clips being the later style, the center 'toe pins' they'd installed were about 1/2" too short! - so that when I added the proper axle spacers, the pins would no longer engage with the corresponding holes in the axle... So to remedy these issues, I was able to get a new taller set of toe pins made through my friend Mike Salter., I also had the spring clips all changed out for the earlier style ones by a local spring shop here called 'Westshore Spring & 4X4' - who also provided the clips! Now the springs look much more like the original early style springs, and after a coat of some satin black paint, will be ready to install!
Until next time -
